1. What is vacuum quenching?

Vacuum quenching refers to the smooth quenching of parts. Quenching and cooling of parts are carried out in vacuum furnace, and the quenching medium is mainly gas (such as inert gas), water and quenching oil. Vacuum quenching has been widely used in the quenching of various carburizing steels, alloy tool steels, high-speed steels and stainless steels, as well as the solution treatment of various aging alloys.

2. Classification of vacuum quenching

● Oil quenching is to heat the workpiece in the vacuum heating chamber, move it to the vacuum cooling chamber, fill it with high-purity nitrogen and immediately send it to the quenching oil tank. The quenching medium is oil. Quenching oil in the oil tank is rapidly cooled after vigorous stirring.

● Gas quenching is to fill the cooling chamber with high-purity inert gas (Ar) or non active gas (N2) for rapid cooling after the workpiece is heated in vacuum. The quenching medium is gas. High speed steel, high carbon high chromium steel and die steel are suitable for gas quenching. The vacuum gas quenching process is cleaner than the vacuum oil quenching process and belongs to the green processing category.

● Water quenching is to quickly enter the vacuum quenching water tank after the workpiece is heated in the vacuum heating chamber, and the transfer time is less than 6s. The quenching medium is pure water, suitable for titanium alloy solution treatment; Beryllium bronze solution treatment; Solution treatment of nickel base, cobalt base and high elastic alloy steel; Nuclear industry materials 17-4PH, stainless steel 410 and other solid solution treatment.

3. Vacuum oil quenching furnace

Main applications:It is used for quenching alloy structural steel, bearing steel, spring steel, die steel, high-speed steel and other materials in vacuum oil medium, as well as annealing, air cooling and other processes of the above related materials.

Advantages: bright workpiece is obtained by vacuum oil quenching, with good structure and properties, and no oxidation and decarburization on the surface. The cooling speed of oil quenching is faster than that of gas quenching.

● The quenching oil tank is not only equipped with a propeller forced mixing and oil injection system, a dual cooling mode, but also a distinctive external oil circulation cooling system. The high-temperature quenching oil is cooled by an external heat exchanger, and the cooling speed of the quenching oil is faster, providing users with the best cooling option.

● The external hopper car is fully automatic and remotely operated, requiring only one person to operate (saving labor and effort compared with the docking push-pull structure).

4. vacuum gas quenching furnace

Main application:It is used for vacuum gas quenching of tool steel, die steel, high-speed steel, ultra-high strength steel and other materials.

Advantages:High purity inert gas (Ar/He) or non active gas (N2) is used as quenching medium. After quenching, the workpiece surface is smooth and clean without cleaning the oil medium.

Main applications:solution treatment of titanium alloys in aerospace industry, such as TC4, TC16, TC18 and TC21, solution treatment of beryllium bronze in instrument elastic elements, solution treatment of precision alloys such as nickel based and cobalt based high elastic alloys 3J1 and 3J21 and nickel based constant elastic alloys 3J53 in aerospace sensors, solution treatment of stainless steels such as 17-4PH and 410 in nuclear energy field, etc.

Advantage:

1) The quenching delay time is short, and the microstructure and properties of the workpiece obtained by vacuum water quenching are good;
